WHAT IS YOU’RE IN RUDE HEALTH WEEK?
Rude Health is an old English expression meaning your ‘up for life and full of energy.’ This June we are putting on a week of events that shakes up your wake up and adds some rhumba to your routine. From wood carving and wild swimming to massaging and meditating this lineup will celebrate you mentally, spiritually, physically or creatively being ‘in rude health’.
You’re in rude health when…you make cosmetics so natural you could eat them for breakfast. You smile at the person in the mirror. You taste as good as you look.
As part of You’re In Rude Health Week we’re hosting an Edible Cosmetics Masterclass and Supper Club with homemade cosmetics teacher, Julie Riehl from Made in Hackney.
Learn to make skincare so pure you could eat it, and perfectly tailored to your skin type too. What’s on the menu? Natural toothpaste, a face scrub, a body scrub, and two face masks. Leave feeling lick-able.
DID YOU KNOW?
Humans are contrary. We flap about what food we put inside our mouths, but use commercial cosmetics on our skin forgetting that your skin’s hungry too. Go on… learn to give your skin something positively edible to absorb.
GIVE SOMETHING BACK:
Julie, a gardener by trade, regularly teaches homemade cosmetics masterclasses at Made In Hackney, a community kitchen social enterprise in Stoke Newington. All profits from this event will go to Made In Hackney, and be put towards funding community cooking classes.
Karma – check.
