You’re in rude health when… you carve your own cutlery. You lick the butter knife. You’ve never worn out a sofa. You float your own boat.
Tamagotchi’s are back. So is wood carving. As part of You’re In Rude Health Week, we are giving you the option to come and learn the beautiful art of wood carving with the amazing Sophie Sellu of Grain & Knot. Craft your own butter knife and enjoy a glass of natural wine, selection of snacks and bread and butter after.
WHAT’S YOU’RE IN RUDE HEALTH WEEK?
Rude Health is an old English expression meaning your ‘up for life and full of energy.’ This June we are putting on a week of events that shakes up your wake up and adds some rhumba to your routine. From wood carving and wild swimming to massaging and meditating this lineup will celebrate you mentally, spiritually, physically or creatively being ‘in rude health’.
DID YOU KNOW?
It is no secret that there is something extremely therapeutic about using your hands to express your emotions. Working with your hands can help you channel all that built up energy in an alternative format. Early week slump? Technology overload? Generally craving creativity? This one’s for you.
WHO IS GRAIN & KNOT?
In the Summer of 2013, Sophie Sellu attended a spoon carving and bushcraft workshop in woodland in the beautiful British countryside. Inspired by the techniques learnt, she returned home the very next day with an axe, much to her family’s amusement. After giving some spoons away as gifts, friends and family urged her to pursue this avenue and to create a brand for her woodworking. A few cut fingers and splinters later Grain and Knot was born.
