Spice up your life with this spicy sweet and nutty iced chai hazelnut drink.
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 vanilla pod, sliced in half lengthwise
1 small piece of fresh ginger about 2cm, peeled and sliced
6 cardamon pods
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
2 teabags (preferably Darjeeling)
40g coconut palm sugar
500ml Rude Health Hazelnut Drink (use less if you prefer a strong chai tea)
In a small saucepan, add in the water, cinnamon stick, vanilla, ginger, cardamon pods, cloves, and black peppercorns. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, uncovered.
Bring the mixture back to a boil, then turn the heat off. Add in the tea bags and let it steep for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bags and stir in the coconut palm sugar.
Once the coconut palm sugar has dissolved, strain out all the spices, and pour the liquid into a serving jug. Chill in the refrigerator until cool.
When ready to serve, mix in the Rude Health Hazelnut Drink. Serve with ice.
