A Raw Sprouted Bircher Muesli made with our Organic Sprouted Porridge Oats. These oats are as pure as can be and gluten-free. Normally oats are steamed before being turned into flakes, but our sprouted oats are simply rolled at a low temperature. This makes for a Bircher with a more earthy, complex flavour and creamy texture, and a satisfying bite. Balanced with the fresh flavour of grated apple and the crunch of toasted hazelnuts this Bircher is bursting with flavour and nutrients.

Ingredients

40g Rude Health Gluten-Free Sprouted Porridge Oats

Rude Health dairy alternative drinks /milk / water – enough to cover your oats

1 heaped dessert spoonful of yoghurt or coconut yoghurt

1/2 grated apple

small handful toasted hazelnuts

maple syrup to serve

The night before

Pour your oats into a bowl and cover with milk/ Rude Health dairy alternative drinks / water. Place a plate or cling film over your bowl of oats and liquid and store in the fridge.

In the morning

Fold the yoghurt into the oats and top with grated apple, toasted hazelnuts and a drizzle of maple syrup.

*Best to consume each batch right away after you have soaked them – the longer you leave them to soak, the higher the chance that they start to ferment. Nothing to worry about, but it does explain the slightly sour and fizzy taste.
