At Rude Health we only use the kind of ingredients you’d have in your own kitchen – nothing artificial, nothing refined. We source our ingredients from fields, orchards and vines – not laboratories. We think food should be made out of food – not thickeners, preservatives, colourings, flavourings and other additives. The proof is in the taste, try it for yourself. When you’ve got food this good inside you, you’ll be up for anything.

2005

Summer – we come up with a wacky idea: the world’s finest muesli. After scrupulous recipe testing and tastings among friends, The Ultimate Muesli is born, and Rude Health is the excited new father (and mother).
Autumn & Winter – we amuse ourselves in the evenings by hand chopping dates, sourcing gojis and blending grains to create small batches of The Ultimate Muesli in our kitchen, and we launch our baby into the local delis and health food stores.

2006

Spring – having found the world’s best oats to make our muesli we use them to create the world’s best porridges.
Summer – a feature about gojis in Sunday Times Style magazine while we were on honeymoon created an overwhelming number of orders, including a new customer: Nigella Lawson.
Autumn – out of the kitchen and into a small warehouse in Wandsworth, and we hire our 1st Rude Person: - Ruth Hofmann. Ruth’s now back home in Switzerland where she sells Rude Health to the Swiss. Yes, we sell muesli to Switzerland.

2007

Spring – time to move again - to a grown up warehouse with pallet racking and a fork lift. Raheel joins as warehouseman and demon fork lift driver (he can’t drive a car).
Summer – we launch a range of organic puffed and flaked cereals, including the world’s only sugar and salt free corn flakes. They taste of corn. So they don’t sell well...

2008

Spring – as we grow we need to manage our pennies carefully, so Jonathan arrives and is very, very good at this.
Autumn – after 2 years of making great tasting healthy breakfast cereals, we jump from a bag into a box and Waitrose start to sell our Muesli, Porridge and light Cereals.

2009

Spring – our first international delivery goes to Norway. We send bigger deliveries now and have become firm friends. All attempts to interest us in Norwegian brown cheese have failed.
Autumn – Abergavenny Food Festival invite us to host the Rude Health Rants. It’s now an annual institution. For us at least.

2010

Spring – after 2 years in pursuit of the perfect granola, we are finally satisfied & create The Ultimate Granola. It’s an instant hit winning 2 gold stars from the Great Taste Awards. 3 more granolas follow.
Autumn - we discover the world’s finest puffed rice and corn crackers and as they’re thin and very crispy we don’t call them cakes.

2011

Summer – we made our first profit and spend it on a table tennis table for the warehouse. Jonathan and Raheel fight it out to be table tennis champion.

2012

Summer – we’re bursting at the seams in Wandsworth. It’s time to move to a proper office with heating, a café and no fork lift. Grown up.
Autumn – The Pumpkin and The Beetroot make their debut as the world’s first vegetable bars. Nick celebrates in style.

2013

Summer – drinks? Why not. We make our first dairy-free drinks. While we’re being revolutionary we completely redesign our look, so there’s no doubt what’s in Rude Health.
Autumn – it’s third time lucky for Nick as he is crowned The Speciality World Porridge Champion with our Fruity Date Porridge.
Winter – we host the first London Porridge Championships.

2014

Spring – we take our lively office discussions about food out into the real world with the #EatRight Breakfasts.
Summer – we make food. We make drinks. The obvious next step is food you can drink. Make space at the table for Smoothie Oats.
Autumn – For those who can’t smile wide enough to cram a whole Cracker, we present: Mini Crackers...

2015

Spring – what's more nourishing than a grain? A grain that's been sprouted. Welcome Sprouted Flours and Porridge Oats.
Autumn – it's not only the UK that’s in Rude Health, now that we’ve opened an office in Amsterdam.

2016

Autumn - after 10 years of eating right, Nick's ranting turned to writing and 6 months later, the Eat Right cookbook was born.
Winter – we moved office. Hello space.
Spring – We are 10 years old. Happy Birthday to us.
Nothing wrong with the occasional cookie now and again.
