Have you ever thought about what constitutes a healthy food or drink? To most people, healthy means having foods that are low fat, low carb, low calorie and low sugar.
We think about health in a slightly different way. We determine a food or drink’s healthiness by its quality and how nourishing it is for our bodies, not by health claims.
Health claims tend to generate anxiety around food and take the fun out of it. Therefore, we believe food should be enjoyed and celebrated in its natural state. Because if you don’t look forward to your next snack or meal, no matter how old you are, then what’s the point?
This kind of attitude about food is something we should be teaching people from a young age. If you have your kids enjoying food and eating well from the start, they will be set for life.
Best way to kick start their food love affair? Get them in the kitchen. It’s always hard to find healthy snacks that are suitable for children, so why not try and make your own? Cooking and baking with real ingredients is a great way to introduce your kids to high quality, nourishing foods and drinks. We have a great collection of sweet and savoury healthy snack recipes that are suitable for kids including our Sprouted Spelt Muffins, Honey Spelt Snack Bars and Sprouted Pumpkin Muffins.
Don’t have time to make your own? We’ve got you covered. We only use real, nourishing and recognisable ingredients in all of our foods and drinks, all of which are suitable for people, big and small. Lunchboxes everywhere are being filled with snacks which have been processed, contain refined sugars and are filled with unpronounceable ingredients. So, what should you be giving them instead?
RUDE HEALTH CORNITAS
Kids love crisps. Who can blame ‘em? They’re crunchy, salty and delicious. But so many bags of crisps have a long list of ingredients, none of which are ingredients you’d be able to find in your own kitchen, let alone want to give to your kids. We think food should be made out of food. We’re more vines, fields and forests, than laboratories and that’s why we created Cornitas. A healthy twist on tortilla chips. Cornitas come in two delicious varieties, each made with four simple ingredients – corn, pulses, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. They’re gluten free, popped instead of fried and so mouth-boggingly tasty you’ll not just be giving them to your kids, but popping them in to your work bag too. Pick up a box of either Black Bean or Chickpea & Lentil Cornitas here.
RUDE HEALTH SNACK BARS
Our fudgy, date based bars are the perfect snack for all the little sweet tooth-ers out there. Packed with fruit, veg, nuts and seeds, they come in five varieties – The Beetroot, The Sweet Potato & Cacao, The Coconut, The Peanut and The Pumpkin. Refined sugar? Zero. Artificial Ingredients? Zilch.
A RUDE HEALTH BREAKFAST
Finding children’s cereals that are as healthy as they are delicious can be tricky. That’s why we added two kid’s cereals to our range of breakfast foods. Our kid’s cereals are all organic and have 3 ingredients or less. They’re made using whole grain, and are never extruded, or processed, into unnatural shapes and textures. When you mess with the natural shape and size of foods too much, you end up losing some of its nourishment. We keep salt and sweetness to a minimum. We use organic, unrefined ingredients to make it the best possible flavour and quality. What more could you want?
Banana Berry Oats, kid’s Bircher.
You can enjoy our Banana Berry Oats two ways. Either add hot milk (dairy or dairy-free) to turn it into perfect banana berry porridge or stir in cold milk for a marvellous banana berry muesli. Banana Berry Oats are organic and made with oats, banana and raspberries. That’s it.
Honey Spelt Puffs
Our Honey Spelt Puffs are organic and made using only puffed spelt and honey… you get the idea. Parents will love the whole grains, kids will love the sweetness. Win. Win.
